Health and Well-being: Bukhara State University’s Youth Union’s initiatives
The Youth Union at Bukhara State University has been at the forefront of promoting health and well-being among students through a series of engaging and diverse activities. Let’s take a closer look at how we’ve been working towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being:
“We Stand Against OITS!” Debate Session:
In collaboration with the Foreign Languages Faculty, the Youth Union organized a debate session titled “We Stand Against OITS!” This engaging discussion provided students with the opportunity to explore and debate various health-related topics, from the impact of unhealthy habits to the importance of preventive measures.
Tutor Support and Health Recommendations:
During the debate session, students received valuable advice and recommendations from healthcare professionals and tutors. From tips on maintaining a balanced diet to strategies for managing stress, these insights empowered students to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
“Dekan Kubogi” Sports Tournament:
The Agriculture and Biotechnology Faculty hosted the “Dekan Kubogi” (Dean’s Cup) sports tournament, featuring exciting competitions in football and intellectual games. Through friendly rivalry and teamwork, students not only enjoyed the thrill of sports but also promoted physical activity and competition among peers.
“Street Workout” Competition:
As part of the “Youth and Business Empowerment Year,” the Youth Union organized a “Street Workout” competition for students across various educational institutions in the region. This dynamic event encouraged students to showcase their strength and agility through a series of challenging exercises and routines.
“Ziyorat Velomarafon” Cycling Event:
In collaboration with the local community, Bukhara State University organized the “Ziyorat Velomarafon” cycling event, inviting residents and university members to explore the city while promoting physical activity and environmental awareness. Participants embarked on a scenic cycling tour, enjoying the benefits of exercise while connecting with nature.
Chess and Checkers Tournament:
The Sports Department, in coordination with the Pedagogy Faculty, organized a chess and checkers tournament, providing students with intellectual challenges and promoting mental well-being. Through strategic gameplay and friendly competition, students exercised their minds and enhanced their cognitive skills.
Community Engagement:
Throughout these events, the Youth Union fostered a sense of community and inclusivity, encouraging students, faculty, and staff to come together in pursuit of better health and well-being for all. By engaging in physical activities, intellectual pursuits, and community events, we’re not just promoting good health – we’re building a stronger, more connected university community.
