Building Sustainable Communities
The Youth Union at Bukhara State University has been actively working towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 12 – Sustainable Cities and Communities through a variety of impactful initiatives.
“Student Care” Project:
Our “Student Care” project, held in collaboration with local authorities and community organizations, aimed to improve the living conditions and well-being of students residing in the 6th micro-region. Through initiatives such as community clean-up drives and infrastructure improvements around the “Mosque” area, we’ve helped create a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment for all.
Community Market:
In line with our commitment to sustainability, the Youth Union organized a community market where students could purchase eco-friendly and locally sourced products. From handmade crafts to organic produce, the market offered a wide range of sustainable options, encouraging responsible consumption and supporting local artisans.
“QVZ Voha League” Fair:
The “QVZ Voha League” fair, organized by the Youth Union in partnership with local businesses, showcased a variety of sustainable and environmentally friendly products. From reusable containers to organic textiles, attendees had the opportunity to explore and purchase sustainable alternatives to everyday items, promoting eco-conscious consumer choices.
“Ziyorat Velomarafon” Cycling Event:
As part of our efforts to promote sustainable transportation and community engagement, we organized the “Ziyorat Velomarafon” cycling event. Participants embarked on a scenic cycling tour, highlighting the importance of eco-friendly modes of transportation and the beauty of our city’s surroundings.
Cultural Concert:
In collaboration with the Arts Faculty, we organized a cultural concert aimed at promoting local talent and celebrating our diverse community. Through music, dance, and storytelling, the event showcased the rich cultural heritage of Bukhara and fostered a sense of pride and unity among residents.
” School I’ve Graduated from ” Initiative:
Continuing our commitment to education and empowerment, we launched the “I’ve Graduated from School” initiative, aimed at providing support and guidance to high school graduates as they transition to university life. Through mentorship programs, informational sessions, and outreach activities, we’ve helped ease the transition for incoming students and fostered a sense of belonging within the university community.
